Job Referral Policy

Initial sign in is in person anytime the hall is open. Office hours are from 7:00 am to noon and 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

It is your responsibility to notify the hall of any changes in telephone number or other changes that may occur.

Local 948 utilizes a “bid system”. Call (810) 767-3308 extension 5 between the hours of 4:00 pm and 7:00 am, or respond by e-mail, to bid on a job call. You can also check online for job calls on our website www.local948.org and then call the jobline or send an email to bid on the call. When bidding on a call you are required to give your name, job preference(s) and contact phone numbers (2 maximum). E-mail: jwallace@local948.org

You will receive one mark for:

  • Each job refused.
  • Each job you are not available for.
  • If you bid on the call and there is no answer when we call.

When you receive three marks you will need to re-register in person. You will only receive one mark per day regardless of the number of job calls. Any call that goes past you on the list regardless if you bid will result in a mark.

- All market recovery calls

- All residential calls

- All short calls

- Calls requiring special skills, abilities, certifications or training

- When a member gives prior notice to the Hall he/she will be on vacation

Emergency calls, as determined by the Business Manager, will be filled in chronological order to available applicants. No marks will be given to applicants who are not available by telephone for an emergency call.
